What Happened?

[Mini] What Happened? (Bellator 192

Let’s see what happened in the land of Bellator. Once again, I do not watch Bellator often but I like making predictions and sometimes Bellator has fighters I’m a fan of that are fighting. So let’s see how the fights went down and my predictions held up:

Aaron Pico vs. Shane Kruchten

Aaron Pico is known to me as having one of the worst, over-hyped debuts in MMA history. Now he is going up against a 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu fight in Shane Kruchten who is 12-3 while he is only 1-1. Good luck with that.

Winner: Aaron Pico via Knockout/Technical Knockout in Round 1

Georgi Karakhanyan vs. Henry Corrales

I didn’t get to see this fight sadly as my recorder did not operate properly. But from what I could hear about it, Henry Corrales outsruck his opponent to get the victory. I thought Georgi Karakhanyan would be able to submit him but I guess that was inaccurate.

Winner: Henry Corrales via Decision

Michael Chandler vs. Goiti Yamauchi

This went how I predicted it. Michael Chandler uses his wrestling to control Goit Yamuchi for the entire fight to get the decision. Do I need to say more? I just hope he gets the title shot he deserves after losing it from an accidental ankle injury

Winner: Michael Chandler via Decision

Douglas “The Phenom” Lima (c) vs. Rory “The Red King” MacDonald

This also went how I pictured it going. Rory MacDonald used his striking to wear down Douglas Lima on the feet then used his wrestling to neutralize his offense. Lima was able to land leg kicks that gave MacDonald a big lump on his leg but that was about it.

Winner: Rory MacDonald via Decision

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs. Chael “The American Gangster” Sonnen

Some say it’s boring, but I say it is brilliant. If you are a wrestler that is going up aagainst a knockout artist then I would suggest using that wrestling to neutralze your opponent. That is exactly what Chael Sonn did to get the victory over Quinton Jackson and move on to the next round of the tournament.

Winner: Chael Sonnen via Decision

Predictions vs. Actual Results:

Here are my prediction results with some interesting stats to go along with it:

Screenshot_20180121-154429.jpg

  • 60% of winners picked correctly
  • 60% of predictions were perfect
  • Prediction accuracy for this event was better than the one for UFC 220: Miocic vs. Ngannou (go figure)
